Being a Public Scholar

"The Public Scholars program has positively affected my academic and professional career. It not only bolstered my confidence in showcasing my work but also equipped me with the skills to convey my research in a digestible public message. Academically, it broadened my network within Concordia University and beyond. Professionally, the program afforded me unique opportunities, such as attending the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) and leading a panel discussion on building decarbonization in Canada."
— Mostafa Saad, Public Scholar 2022
"The public scholar program was a game-changer for my career path. I was not expecting to receive so many interview requests and various occasions to share my research with the public.
This program helped me widen my network, enhance career possibilities, organize events, publish deliverables to a broader audience, and have an active presence on social media. I strongly recommend all doctoral students to apply and give this opportunity a chance."
— Ezgi Ozyonum, Public Scholar 2021
