How to apply as a VIFP student
If your home university does not have an exchange agreement with Concordia University and you would still like to study at Concordia for 1 or 2 semesters, then you may do so by applying as a (VIFP). Visiting international fee-paying students (VIFP) are students from abroad who typically attend Concordia for one semester or an academic year. As a VIFP, you are responsible for paying Concordia tuition and fees.
How does it work?
International students wishing to spend a semester or 2 as a visiting international fee-paying student (VIFP) must apply directly to the faculty in which they would like to take courses.
Concordia has 4 faculties from which you can choose and each faculty has its own application procedures and requirements.
Application Process
Applying to Concordia University as a visiting international fee-paying (VIFP) student is as easy as 4 simple steps.
1. Select Your Faculty
Concordia University has 4 faculties offering hundreds of programs to meet your academic needs. Discover their programs and select the one that meets your academic needs.
2. Explore our Courses
Most courses last only one semester, but some last for the full academic year. If you are admitted for only one semester, you cannot register for courses that last the entire Academic Year. One Concordia course typically equals 3 credits.
- Undergraduate students are permitted to take a minimum of 12 credits or a maximum of 15 credits each semester.
- You will need to list at least 6 courses in your exchange application

- Graduate students normally take a maximum of 9 credits per semester.
- MBA student can take a maximum of 12 credits per semester.
