Course approval while abroad
All courses taken abroad must be pre-approved by your department/faculty prior to registration at your host university. Courses taken without approval will not be transferred to Concordia.
Students must normally get their courses approved before they go abroad. However, like at Concordia, there is no guarantee that the courses you’ve identified prior to leaving will always be available. Sometimes courses that you were previously approved for are cancelled or are full. Or, you may have learned about a different course that you would like to take.
Regardless of why you need to take a new course, any course you want to take at your host institution must be approved by your department/faculty before you enroll in order to get credit for the course.
Each faculty has its own procedure for approving exchange courses. Information regarding the course approval process for each faculty can be found on that faculty’s exchange website (see “Faculty Requirements” section on the How to Apply to CSEP web page). Please follow your faculty’s procedures to get course approval. You can also reach out to your faculty program advisor for more information.
