Please note that Zero Waste Event Services are not available for Winter 2025.

Event services

Congratulations! You're a step closer to hosting a zero waste event and helping us reach our zero waste mission. Here's what you should know.

There's no cost to you

That's right — our services are FREE for all on-campus events.

We offer more than just reusable dishware

Along with reusable dishware, here's what else we provide:

  • Waste bin set-ups (including compost and recycling)
  • Custom signage for bins that reflect the waste generated at your events
  • Volunteers to help your guests sort waste
  • Consultation on the packaging and merch provided at your event
  • Surplus food donation to local shelters

Here's how it works:

  • Complete the Zero Waste Event Services form with details about your event and your needs.
  • If you've requested reusable dishware, you will be taken to our Dish Request page on Booqable to specify which items you would like, and pick-up and return times.
  • If you are not ready to select dishware yet, you can always go back to the form.
  • You'll receive an email indicating that we have your order. We'll get back to you within three business days to confirm your request.

The Dish Project, formerly known as the R4 Dish Project, and run out of Sustainable Concordia for many years, needed a new home after it's parent organization moved away from a working group structure. The team members now working at the Office of Sustainability have been involved with Sustainable Concordia for years and thought this would be the perfect home for such a critical waste reduction service to the community. We are so excited to re-offer this service along with even more ways to help our community cut down on waste.

Yes! We only charge in the case of lost or damaged items, at the value of replacing those items.

Unfortunately, because the services are now provided for free and subsidized by the Office of Sustainability, we are unable to offer the services to external groups or for private events.
