Undergraduate programs
More than mere facts, history is a dynamic discipline built on analysis, debate and interpretation. Studying history will you examine humanity through events, culture and context.
From the start, undergraduate students are exposed to a variety of themes and topics across global history, especially in the HIST 200 seminars. This provides students with the foundational skills, such as critical thinking, to be sccessful in any field.
In addition to courses, students have a wealth of activities and affiliations to explore, including active student associations and innovative research around public history.
The History program offers multiple bachelor degree options.
BA in History
This a regular bachelor's degree of 90 credits. Most students begin in this program.

Specializations
A degree with a specialization delves deeper, requiring 60 core credits as opposed to 42 for a bachelor's degree.
A joint specialization is possible, combining 30 core credits in History and 30 core credits in English.
Honours program
Intended for students with high standing, the BA Honours in History is available to students after they have completed 24 credits. The honours program offers multiple formats:

Minor in History
This 24-credit interdisciplinary minor will give you an understanding of the past that will broaden your understanding of contemporary issues. It's a great compliment to any major.
Law & Society minor
Broaden your understanding of issues in governance, crime and social justice with this interdisciplinary minor.
