Concordia University’s Department of Journalism is one of the best journalism schools in Canada. Over the last 50 years, we have trained many award-winning national and international journalists.
Special funding for out-of-province students
Up to $4,000 for undergraduate programs.
Up to $9,251 for Master's programs.
Hands-on, experiential learning
Our programs feature collaborative, hands-on production classes and thought-provoking lectures that propel students to become dynamic, highly skilled journalists, ready to take on the ever-changing media landscape.
We offer a three-year undergraduate program, two 11-month diploma programs and a two-year master’s program.
Inspiring student innovation
Our students experiment with platforms including video, audio, writing and social media, pushing the boundaries of journalism creation. They come away with strong work samples that will help them land their dream internship.

We’re committed to serving the profession by training highly-skilled, critical thinking journalists and excellent researchers. With a pulse on areas like science journalism, Indigenous journalism and community journalism, the research opportunities for students are vast.
