Student life

As a Journalism student in Montreal, you’ll become part of a vibrant, bilingual media environment and report on a diversity of events in sports, film, music, culture, environment and more.

You'll gain valuable work experience while studying through taking on an internship, working in a teaching assistant role or by contributing to student media.

Experiential, collaborative programs

Opportunities for paid internships in journalism and related fields are available to all students. Our students have interned at numerous media including The Montreal Gazette, Le Devoir, Sportsnet, CTV, CBC, Radio-Canada, City TV, Global, The Eastern Door and CJAD. Upper-year undergraduate students in good standing may take on a journalism practicum with recognized media outlet for course credit.

The student-led, independent multimedia publications The Concordian and The Link regularly cover the Concordia community and beyond. For audio enthusiasts, CJLO is Concordia’s one and only radio station.
