Gabrielle Fahmy

Gabrielle Fahmy earned a Graduate Diploma in Journalism from Concordia University in 2013. She began her career as an intern in the CBC’s London, U.K. bureau, before coming back to Montreal to work for the public broadcaster just as the 2014 Quebec provincial election campaign was getting underway. There she also helped cover notable stories like the Charbonneau Commission and the Luka Magnotta trial, producing for The National. In 2016, she took a job as the CBC’s video journalist in Moncton, where she covered some of the region’s biggest stories, including the trial of the RCMP that followed the gunning of three officers in 2014. She also extensively covered the endangered north Atlantic right whales’ deaths, and the impact on the East Coast’s fishing industry of the closures that followed. She then came back to work in her hometown as a reporter at CTV Montreal during the pandemic and is now living and working in New York City as a journalist at Bloomberg.
