Biography

Biography

Liz Clarke's research is on women and silent film. She has studied women both in front of and behind the camera. Her current book project is on the representation of women in war films from 1908-1918. She is also working on a project about women screenwriters from the 1910s to the 1930s. Her current interest is in the career of Gene Gauntier, most specifically her series of films made in Egypt and Palestine.

Prior to coming to Concordia, Liz held a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
