The following individuals are the winners of the CCSL Outstanding Contribution Award for 2025.

Undergraduate student winners

Niraj Dayanandan

Niraj Dayanandan

Niraj Dayanandan has had a meaningful impact at Concordia through his leadership and commitment to sustainability. He has presented research at leading conferences and contributed to sustainability projects focused on urban issues. As President of the Sustainability and Diversity Student Association (SDSA) and Vice-President of the Urban Planning Association, Niraj reinvigorated student involvement and spearheaded initiatives such as the green roof project and the pedestrianization of Mackay Street. His initiatives have played a key role in increasing awareness and promoting engagement in sustainability efforts at Concordia.

Guillermo Sebastian Chavín Anderson-Diaz

Guillermo Sebastian Chavín Anderson-Diaz

Guillermo Sebastian Chavín Anderson-Diaz has played an important role in student life at Concordia. As Chair of the Concordia Global Affairs Association and President of Reggies Solidarity Cooperative, he revitalized the Model UN team and transformed Reggies into a vibrant campus space. His efforts have created meaningful opportunities for students to engage in campus activities and enjoy enhanced spaces, contributing to a more dynamic and connected campus atmosphere.

Hellen Vu

Hellen Vu

Hellen Vu is a committed student leader who has made notable contributions to the Concordia community. As President of the Applied Human Science Student Association, she revitalized key events and helped foster a sense of belonging among students. Hellen also played an instrumental role in HackConcordia as Director of Sponsorship, securing major sponsors like Ubisoft and Sun Life. Juggling academics, part-time work, and leadership roles, she consistently demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and professionalism. Hellen’s commitment to supporting her peers has had a positive impact on Concordia.

Isaiah Tyrrell-Joyner

Isaiah Tyrrell-Joyner 

Isaiah Tyrrell-Joyner is a dedicated leader who has been instrumental in advocating for student rights and creating spaces for Black students to thrive at Concordia. As a member of the President’s Task Force on Anti-Black Racism, he played a central role in organizing town halls and shaping key initiatives. He also co-founded the Black Students Career Development (BSCD) initiative, providing mentorship and career opportunities for Black students. Even after stepping down from his executive role, Isaiah continues to support BSCD through mentorship, ensuring the program’s longevity. His contributions have been essential in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion at Concordia.

Dr. Darragh Languay

Dr. Darragh Languay

Dr. Darragh Languay is known for her unwavering commitment to student success and her impactful role at Concordia University. As the Undergraduate Academic Advisor for English Literature and a Senior Lecturer, she provides engaging lectures and personalized advising to over 1,000 students. Dr. Languay’s dedication extends beyond the classroom, where she has led curriculum reforms and actively participated in student advocacy committees. Her professionalism, warmth, and commitment make Darragh an exceptional leader and mentor at Concordia.

Jillian Ritchie

Jillian Ritchie

Jillian Ritchie, Wellness Coordinator at CU Wellness, has been a driving force behind student well-being at Concordia since founding the program in 2019. Through compassionate leadership, she has created a supportive environment for students, offering programs like Therapy Dog visits, Menstrual Charting workshops and dance classes. Jillian’s dedication to mental health and menstrual equity, showcased through initiatives like the Menstrual Equity Symposium, has helped make Concordia a more inclusive and empowering community.

Cristina Sanza

Cristina Sanza

Cristina Sanza, a Digital Journalism Instructor at Concordia University, has been instrumental in promoting student success. As editor of The City, the university's digital magazine, she mentors students to refine their writing and produce high-quality content. In addition to her editorial role, Cristina offers personalized career development support, including guidance on CVs, reference letters and interview strategies. She also led the creation of an open educational resource (OER) textbook, reducing financial burdens for students while providing valuable resources for future generations. Cristina’s mentorship and guidance have helped countless students grow professionally, making her a key figure in the Journalism Department.

Christina Soulière-Gagliardi

Christina Soulière-Gagliardi

Christina Soulière-Gagliardi, Coordinator of Booking Administration and System Support at Hospitality Concordia, has been instrumental in transforming the university’s event booking process. Overseeing the Event Management System (EMS) and My Events platform, Christina has streamlined event coordination for students, staff, and faculty, offering tailored solutions and training to ensure smooth execution. Beyond systems, she has been a vital support for student leaders, especially during Orientation/Frosh, helping foster a safer, more inclusive campus culture. Christina’s guidance, patience, and dedication to student success have made her an invaluable resource, enhancing student engagement and campus life at Concordia.
