ESSEC Africa Summer Program 2025
Innovation and Entrepreneurship program runs over a 3-week period and is designed for students interested in the theme of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Africa.
About the program
This 3-week intensive program is designed for undergraduate students interested in African cultures and African business perspectives. The main objective of this immersive program is to give participants key skills to understand the main challenges and specifics of doing business in/with Africa. Students will meet and interact with local experts and professionals who will help them understand the diversity of African business and entrepreneurial practices. They will also visit local companies and associations.
Eligibility requirements
To be eligible to participate in the ESSEC Africa Summer School program, you must meet the following criteria.
- Be enrolled in a degree program at Concordia.
- Completed at a minimum of 24 credits toward your current degree program by the time you leave for the program.
- Be registered as a full-time staus student at Concordia.
- Minimum CGPA: 3.0.

Approved program courses
The Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Africa program consists of 3 one-week thematic modules for a total of 9ECTS credits or 3 Concordia credits.
- Introduction to Arabic/Muslim culture
- Doing Business in Africa
- Artificial Intelligence and Innovation
- Entrepreneurship amd startups in Africa
The course is made up of 90 contact hours from Monday to Friday from - 9:30 to 12:00 / 1:30 to 4:30. The teaching methods will include case studies, lectures and group work with a high level of class interaction.
Estimated cost & bursary
Host institution fees: To be paid to ESSEC: € 300.00 registration and administration fee. This fee is due from all participants selected in the program and is non-refundable.
Concordia Tuition: 3 credits of Concordia tuition to be paid to Concordia University. For an estimate of tuition fees, please use tuition fee calculator.
Additional costs: Housing and all other costs incurred during the program are at the students’ charge.
Quebec Mobility Bursary
To help with the costs of going abroad, Concordia offers a $1,425 CAD Quebec Mobility Bursary to students.
To qualify, you must be a Concordia student enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree program and approved to participate in the summer school program.
Important to note:
- Summer school program applicants do not need to submit a bursary application as it is part of the on-line summer school program application, and you will automatically be considered for the Quebec Mobility Bursary.
- Approved students will receive the bursary payment upon arrival and reception of the mandatory Confirmation of Arrival form.
- Details on the payment of the bursary will be sent to successful applicants.

Housing fees: We offer on campus housing in a single room for the price of 350€ for 3 weeks and in a double room for the price of 175€.
