Sport Federation and Major Events Management

With major sporting partners, NEOMA Business School has created the Summer Sport Federations and Major Events Management programme, giving participants a solid insight into the French success story of major sports event through modules taught at our Paris campus, visits to Federations in Paris and guest speakers.

About the program

Over the last 5 years, France has organised no fewer than 12 world championships and 13 European championships, including the UEFA EURO 2016 and the Ryder’s Cup in 2018. This impressive achievement continues with the Rugby World Cup in 2023 and the largest mega sporting event in the world: the Olympic Games in 2024. With major sporting partners, NEOMA Business School has created the Summer Sport Federations and Major Events Management programme, giving participants a solid insight into the French success story of major sports event through courses taught in Reims campus (conferences with sport Federations and leading actors in major international events.

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible to participate in the NEOMA Business School Sport Federation and Major Events Management Program you must meet the following criteria.

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in JMSB.
  • Have a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA (CGPA).
  • Completed at a minimum of 24 credits toward your current degree program by the time you leave for the program.
  • Meet the eligibility requirements for Short-term study abroad programs outlined within the John Molson Visiting & Exchange website.
  • Must complete prerequisite courses prior to departure.

Program dates

Full-time, with mandatory social events organised as extra curricular activities.

June 16, 2025 - July 5, 2025

Program courses

Permission to take courses is granted by John Molson.  Courses taken without John Molson’s approval will not be transferred to Concordia. All courses taken abroad must pertain to a student’s degree program requirements. Students must complete prerequisite courses prior to departure. 

Students must take their courses in pairs, as outlined below: 

  • Sports Sponsorship and Marketing + Sport Management: The French Model, Strengths and Challenges = MARK B/3 credits + exemption MARK 444 (Prerequisite: COMM 227).
  • Managing Major Sporting events + Business Game: Football Club CEO = MANA B/3 credits (Prerequisite:  COMM 227).

Estimated cost & bursary

Host institution program fee€2200.00 administrative fees to be paid to NEOMA. These fees include

  • Reims Delaune stadium
  • Participation to major sporting events (Tour de France, Roland Garros tennis stadium, the Union of European Football Association…) 
  • Conferences with major actors in sport management (European Professional Club, Rugby, French Football Federation...)

Concordia tuition: 6 credits of Concordia tuition to be paid to Concordia University. Get an estimate of tuition fees.

Additional expenses: Students are responsible for paying for their own accommodations, transportation costs to/from Reims, France, health insurance coverage, meals, and the costs of any immigration document including PCR test, if required.

Quebec Mobility Bursary

To help with the costs of going abroad, Concordia offers a $1,500 CAD Quebec Mobility Bursary to students.

To qualify, you must be a Concordia student enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree program and approved to participate in the summer school program. 

Important to note: 

  • Summer school program applicants do not need to submit a bursary application as it is part of the on-line summer school program application, and you will automatically be considered for the Quebec Mobility Bursary.
  • Approved students will receive the bursary payment upon arrival and reception of the mandatory Confirmation of Arrival form.
  • Details on the payment of the bursary will be sent to successful applicants.
