Hall 7 washroom transformation

There are major renovations planned for washrooms in the Henry F. Hall Building. In Fall 2023, work will begin to transform the men’s and women’s washrooms on the 7th floor into a modern, inclusive space.

Timeline

  • Fall 2023 to Fall 2024
    • Thursday, December 14, 2023: Hall 7 washrooms closed for renovations
    • Week of January 8, 2024: Hall 6 kitchenette and west washroom closed for renovations
    • December 2024: Projected completion

 

Overview

Facilities Management is committed to improving campus spaces to make them more accessible and inclusive for all.

The new Hall 7 facilities have been designed based on research about universally accessible, gender-inclusive, modern and safe washroom spaces. Designs have also been informed by other Concordia renovations and community feedback about the work*.

*Please note that during the work period alternative washrooms are available.

Goals

  • Create inclusive, safe and universally accessible washrooms.

  • Undertake work in accordance with best practices.

  • Minimize disruptions to the community while work is underway.

  • Meet community needs, respect building code, and optimize space.

Features of new, inclusive washrooms

  • Gender neutral, multi-stall spaces.

  • Individual washrooms options for those who want or need them.

  • Tall stalls for safety and privacy.

  • Bright, open, welcoming space.
