A 3-phase process
Mandate
The Advisory Group on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion conducted the Phase 1 of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion conversation at Concordia.
The mandate of the Advisory Group was to consult the Concordia University community about processes and existing practices, needs and suggestions, related to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
The Advisory Group developed a set of priorities and recommendations for advancing Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in all aspects of life at Concordia, with the goal of coordinating and enhancing ongoing initiatives.
Process
The Advisory Group met twelve times between January and August 2019. Members reviewed a variety of resources and provided diverse and creative ways to the Concordia community to give feedback on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the university.
- Scan of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion practises in Canadian universities
- Call for written submissions from the Concordia community
- Ethnographic observations of the Concordia community on both campuses
- Group and individual interviews of Concordia stakeholders
- Collecting “sense of belonging” stories from Students
- Testing Staff’s level of agreement with statements related to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion
- IDEAS Cafés on Equity, Diversity and Inclusion on SGW and Loyola campuses
