Meet the Vice-President, Services & Sustainability
Michael Di Grappa
Michael Di Grappa began his mandate as Vice-President, Services and Sustainability of Concordia University on October 1, 2020. He returned to Concordia following a 24-year career at the University where he served in multiple capacities including Executive Director, Facilities Management (from 1997 to 2000), Vice-President, Services (from 2000 to 2010) and Interim President (from November 2007 to July 2008). He was also President of the Concordia University Alumni Association from 1996 to 1998.
Since leaving Concordia in 2010, Michael served as Vice-Principal, Administration and Finance at McGill University and Senior Vice-President, Property Management at Canderel, a leading national real estate development and management company, where he led the company’s property management platform across Canada, totaling 25 million square feet.
As Vice-President, Services and Sustainability, Michael leads a team comprised of more than 900 employees and an annual budget of over $100 million. He is responsible for and provides leadership, strategic direction, and oversight for the departments of Sustainability, Facilities Management, Human Resources, Instructional and Information Technology Services, Environmental Health and Safety, Campus Safety and Prevention Services, Recreation and Athletics, Hospitality Concordia (i.e. Conference Services, Parking Services, Food Services etc.) and Student Residences.
Michael has a Master of Public Policy and Administration from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science) from Concordia. He completed the Advanced Management Program (AMP 177) at the Harvard Business School and received his Director’s Accreditation (ICD.D) from the Institute of Corporate Directors.
He continues to serve on the board of directors of numerous not-for-profit organizations.
