Requesting official transcripts
An official transcript is a complete academic record bearing the University seal and signature of the Registrar.
Strike at Canada Post
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has given strike notice to Canada Post. The strike is taking place starting Friday November 15. As such, we will experience delays in the delivery of official transcripts that are sent by regular mail.
Given the situation, when making your transcript request we recommend that you:
- Select “pick-up” as the delivery method and deliver it yourself, if the receiving university has agreed to this process. Transcripts can be picked-up at FB-900 (1250 Guy Street) between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.
OR
- Request that the transcript be sent via courier (additional costs apply and will depend on the destination).
If you select Regular Mail when making your request, your official transcript will be prepared but only sent once the strike has concluded.
Please note that transcripts destined to other universities in Quebec via Bureau de Coopération Interuniversitaire (BCI) are automatically sent electronically to the receiving institution and therefore will not be affected by a postal strike.
Your process for requesting official transcripts depends on whether you are a current or former student. Please note that requests cannot be made by email.
Current students
Current students must use the online request form, accessible in your Student Centre. See instructions for requesting official transcripts. (Mobile | Laptop)
You will be able to select your preferred method of delivery. Please see the table below for cost and delivery details.
If you encounter any issues while completing your transcript request online, try disabling your browser’s pop-up blockers and/or use a different browser. (Firefox | Chrome)
Alumni
Alumni who attended after 1980 can request official transcripts online.
If it has been more than a year since you last accessed your Student Centre, you will need to re-activate your Netname before submitting your request. Even if you remember your Netname and password, you will not be able to log in until you re-activate it.
Reactivating your Netname
- To reactivate your Netname, call 514-848-2424 ext. 7613, or email help@concordia.ca
- As of January 2015, all 7-digit student ID numbers were changed to 8 digits. As such, former students must add the number 2 to the start of their original student ID number (ex. 21234567) when submitting requests.
See instructions for accessing your Student Centre. (Mobile | Laptop)
Please see the table below for cost and delivery details.
Alumni who attended before 1980 must complete a PDF request form and submit it by fax to 514-848-2837, or in person, at the Birks Student Service Centre.
Please see the table below for cost and delivery details.
PLEASE NOTE
An overdue student account balance at Concordia will prevent you from receiving your transcripts. Your transcripts will not be released if you have an overdue balance.
- Check your account balance and pay any outstanding balance if necessary.
- If we are holding your transcript due to an outstanding balance, we can release it once payment is made and the hold is removed.
