Student requests
A student request is submitted when students wish to request an exception to an academic regulation, or rule, or other matters relating to their academics.
Important notes
Timing
Student requests can take several weeks to process. Each step in the process can take up to 10 days. It is very important for student to submit their requests in an appropriate time frame to ensure that their requests is completed in a timely manner.
Impact
Students who are considering withdrawing from courses, or taking time away from their studies, may want to learn more about how this may impact their current studies or how they can return to their studies after deciding to step away from them.

Requested via the Student Hub

Go to the Student Hub: click on My CU Account, then Student Centre, then Undergraduate Student Request forms on the left.
- Select the appropriate request form.
- Select the course for which you’re making the request.
- Provide a reason for your request and upload all required information. This may include a professor and/or medical note, if necessary.
- You will receive an email confirming that your form has been submitted.
- A decision regarding your request will be sent to you by email.
(1) Cannot be processed if there is an outstanding balance on your account.
(2) Requires at least 24 credits on record with a CGPA of at least a 3.00
(3) Additional documentation required: Complete the Professor’s note, and the Student Request Medical Certificate if for medical reasons.
Requests that need further consideration will be forwarded to the Student Request Committee (SRC). This committee generally meets every two weeks except over the summer. Students are informed of the committee's decision by email. Decisions of the SRC are final.
Requested via SAS
- Late section change
- Transfer External credits (outside Quebec)
- Change status from part-time to full-time
- Late Completion after the Incomplete (INC) deadline/Extension to Late Completion deadline
- Add/remove exemptions
- Fill in the Student Request form
- Provide a letter of explanation that states the reason for your request
- Include a current copy of your student record
- Include supporting documentation validating request (any documents that speaks to the circumstances surrounding your request)
- Email your student request form, and all additional documents, to your department advisor
