New Acquisitions

Anastasios Anastasopolous

Anastasios Anastasopolous (1933 - 2024) was a Professor in the Department of Economics and Director of the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IAER) at Concordia. The fonds consists of materials related to his teaching career and research in macroeconomics theory and policy, financial economics, the theory of uncertainty and applied general equilibrium models.

Ingrid Bachmann fonds P0285

Ingrid Bachmann is a visual artist and professor in the Department of Studio Arts. The fonds consists of materials related to her career in contemporary art, her teaching careers at Concordia and the Art Institute of Chicago as well as her involvement with Design Cooperative and the Banff Centre Residency program.

Henry Beissel fonds P0287

Henry Beissel is a poet, playwright, essayist, translator, editor and Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Concordia University. The fonds consists of materials related to all aspects of his professional life.

Donald L. Boisvert fonds P0286

Donald L. Boisvert (1951-2019) was a writer, researcher, ordained Anglican priest, administrator and Affiliate Professor in the Department of Religions and Cultures at Concordia; The fonds consists of related professional and personal materials.

Martin Duckworth fonds P0290

Martin Duckworth is a film director, editor and cinematographer. He was a part-time instructor in the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema between 1990 and 2012. The fonds consists of materials related to his professional life in film and teaching in film production.

Howard Fink fonds P0292

Howard Fink (1934-2023) was a Professor in the Department of English at Sir George Williams University and scholar of the history of radio broadcasting of theatre and drama. The fonds consist of materials related to his professional life as a writer, teacher and archivist as well personal correspondence. 

Tom Gibson fonds P0284

Tom Gibson (1930-2021) was an artist and associate professor in the Department of Studio Arts at Concordia University, where he founded the first photography MFA in Canada. The fonds consist of photographs, working prints, contact sheets and negatives as well as photos taken by Gibson in Montreal, Toronto, New York, London and Edinburgh.

Bruce Le Dain fonds P0294

Bruce Le Dain (1928-2000) was a Canadian artist who studied at Sir George Williams College. The fonds consists of materials related to his professional work as a painter.

Ira Robinson fonds P0283

Ira Robinson is professor of Judaic studies in the department of Religion and Cultures of Concordia University. The fonds consists of materials related to his contributions to Canadian Jewish scholarship, teaching and his involvement with the Jewish Public Library.

Philip Szporer fonds P0289

Philip Szporer is a filmmaker, journalist and part-time instructor in the Department of Contemporary Dance and at the Loyola College for Diversity and Sustainability at Concordia University. The fonds consists of materials related to his teaching, filmmaking and journalism as well as his work as Scholar-in-Residence at the Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Massachusetts and as co-founder of the Montreal-based media arts production company Mouvement Perpétuel and Dance + Words.

Maïr Verthuy fonds P0291

Maïr Verthuy is a feminist scholar, Lecturer and Assistant Professor in Études françaises and co-founder of the Simone de Beauvoir Institute at Concordia University. The fonds consists of materials related to her teaching, scholarship, awards and prizes as well as her contributions to the Status of Women in the province of Quebec.

Institutional fonds are organized according to three categories: Concordia University and its two founding institutions, Loyola College and Sir George Williams University. Archival contents are not necessarily exclusive within the three catergories. For instance, some fonds related to Concordia may include records related to Loyola College or Sir George Williams University. We therefore recommend that users check the Scope and content and possible Custodial history in a given fonds description.
